Before you travel

Before visiting the Sirius Federal Territory in Russia, you can find useful information about what clothes to pack, which power adapter to bring, and other travel essentials.
  • Climate
In mid-September, daytime air temperatures in Sochi average around +23°C. In sunny coastal areas, it can warm up to +27°C, while in the mountains and in the evenings it drops to +15°C. The sea water is still warm, though not as warm as in August. Rainfall is possible but generally short-lived.
It’s best to dress with temperature changes throughout the day in mind. Bring T-shirts, a light sweater or cardigan, and a windbreaker for evening walks. Closed-toe shoes are a good choice in case of rain. The sun is still quite active in September, so sunglasses and sunscreen are useful.

  • Local time
The Sirius Federal Territory follows Moscow Standard Time (MSK, UTC+3) throughout the year without seasonal clock changes.
  • Meals
The host will provide all meals during your stay, with options available for various dietary needs. Please inform us through the application form about any food allergies or special requirements.
  • Clothes and Dress Code
For different program components, we recommend:

    — Formal sessions: smart casual (e.g., dress shirts, blouses, slacks)
    — Cultural/festive events: cocktail attire
    — Sightseeing: casual comfortable clothing

National traditional dress is always welcome and encouraged.
  • Essential Packing List
    — Umbrella/raincoat (weather can change quickly)
    — Warm layers and comfortable, supportive shoes
    — Backpack for daily excursions
    — Casual clothing and undergarments
    — Basic toiletries (toothbrush, shampoo, etc.)
    — Sun protection (sunscreen, lip balm)

    ! Any necessary medications
The medical team will be available 24/7, but please bring any personal medications.

    ! Please avoid:
    — Clothing with unsafe hardware or offensive symbols
    — Shorts/skirts shorter than 10 cm above knee
    — Revealing tops (crop tops, deep necklines)
    — Sheer or skin-tight clothing
    — Unsafe footwear (platforms/heels over 7cm)
  • National Flag
To enhance team spirit and create a vibrant atmosphere during the official events, we recommend that each team bring at least one large flag (approximately 135×90 cm). A flag of this size, without a handle, is easily foldable and portable, making it convenient to carry throughout the event.
  • Additionally, we encourage teams to bring smaller flags on handles. These are ideal for waving during ceremonies and cultural events, and for sharing with fellow participants to foster a sense of international community.
  • Artistic Presentation
The program will include a creative task where you will represent your country and get to know each other better. You can bring national items/clothing and prepare creative performances, videos and/or PDF on a flash drive for a presentation.
  • Power Adapters
In Russia, standard power sockets are Type F (CEE 7/4 "Schuko"), operating at 220V with a frequency of 50Hz. If your devices use different plugs, we recommend bringing a suitable adapter.
